Discover the Answer to Your Money Worries

Almost everyone on this planet at some point in their lives has money worries. My hunch is that you’re no exception. Perhaps you’re travelling through a bit of a rough financial patch at the moment.

The tragedy is that when we’re in that place, we think that the answer, is simply to get more money. It makes sense. It’s logical. Ask anybody and they’ll tell you that it’s the right answer.

Anybody that is, except God.

Back from the Brink of Suicide

I think that sometimes we’re prone to trivialising the Word of God. By that I mean, we don’t take it seriously enough.

We skim over it and yet somehow we fail to take it heart. We don’t really grasp that it’s meant for us, for our lives. We completely miss the fact that God’s Word is filled with the power – His power – to radically transform our lives.

So … here’s a story to remind us of the awesome power of God’s Word.

In the week leading up to Easter, I received an email from a woman in Europe (let’s call her ‘Margaret’) who was literally at the point of taking her own life, when a Christianityworks radio progam started to go to air on her local radio station.

This is what she wrote to me (her name and some minor details have been changed to preserve her anonymity):

Steadying the Ship on a Stormy Ocean

There are few things as frightening as a stormy ocean. I’ve often watched the grey waves whipped up by a storm, crashing on rocks below, from my very safe vantage point on land. I’m definitely a land-lover – solid ground beneath my feet … doesn’t get any better than that.

I suspect that’s pretty natural. We all like security.
