With the unexpected outcome of the Brexit referendum reverberating around the globe, uncertainty seems to be reigning supreme – and not just in the United Kingdom and Europe. And the truth is that most people don’t cope well at all well with that.
Well, today (1 September 2014) is a very special day. It’s exactly ten years since I recorded the first, weekly 30 minute “Christianityworks” Radio message. We give God all the glory for His faithfulness over that time, and there are some very important lessons that we’ve learned along the way.
As we head to Christmas, New Year and for us in the Southern Hemisphere, summer holidays, our thoughts turn very much to spending time with our families. All the ads on the TV use happy, well-adjusted families as the backdrop – smiling kids and teenagers; happy mums and dads, silver-haired grandparents – as their backdrops to advertise everything from Christmas hampers, to BBQs to suntan lotion.
Most of us, most of the time, have at least one 800 pound gorilla in our lives that we wish would just magically disappear. Problem is, he never does. The more we apply our tried and proven technique of proactive procrastination in not dealing with him, the more he gets us down and the worse things get.

It’s tragically sad but true, that most Christians are hell bent (!) on squandering the new life that Jesus died and rose again to bring them.
Statistically – based on the research I reported on in a recent blog – the one thing, the only thing that strongly correlates with radically reduced sin and radically transformed lives, is engaging with God’s Word four times a week or more.
And most Christians don’t. Why?
